As I drive through these places, I always wonder about the past lives that molded the buildings and the character of the towns.pitchertakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02714720069598091235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25095032.post-6131874966316821912012-09-23T21:26:02.432-05:002012-09-23T21:26:02.432-05:00I'm sorry it has taken so long to respond. The building was built around 1919 and it was a grocery store on the main floor and a boarding house on the second floor. The family owned it until the early 1930s. At the time it was calling the Channing Hotel. I'm aware of a fire that destroyed many of the buildings on main street and the buildings were never rebuilt. I have a photograph of the main street back when the building was still used as a hotel and there are still a few residents of Channing that remember the time when the building was a grocery store.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25095032.post-81348759814636448542011-06-25T13:36:27.471-05:002011-06-25T13:36:27.471-05:00Channing looks as thought it was once a thriving a...Channing looks as thought it was once a thriving and busy community.
