Hamilton County, Texas 2008
This ranch gate was found by accident, happy accident that is. I had just passed through the old settlement of Ireland, Texas in Coryell County, and noted a sign pointing down a caliche road as to the location of the Ireland cemetery. Interesting that the cemetery is just over the county line in Hamilton County. Not being one to pass up an old cemetery, especially one whose name conjures up a people with a colorful past.....and present. Long story/short, the cemetery was nothing I'd write home about, however the two rut cut leading to the cemetery took off to the left just at this gate. I once before a number of years ago photographed a "Christmas Boot" hanging at the entrance of a ranch over in San Saba County. Nice to find another.
