RUNNIN' ON FULL

Me, somewhere in west Texas on assignment while working for the News and Informations Service of the University of Texas at Austin. Contact sheet says this was April of 1977. Look at that! Patched straw hat and a blue jean jacket with a torn-out elbow -- doesn't get much better than that. Been searching through old 35mm negs finding images of me and the people I hung with in those days because I'm heading to Austin for a reunion of the students who worked as photographers for the Daily Texan from the late 60's and all through the 70's. Surprising how many of those folk are still photographers (some doing video now). During those years there was a gathering each April called (if I remember correctly) the Rights of Spring. It was held at a friend's ranch out in the hill country west of Austin. (This friend was one of those Texan photographers.) What it is that's happenin' is a recreation of that event. People coming from all over to meet/greet/reaquaint after 30-40 years. Should be interesting.

You look like trouble. The kind Wayne or Eastwood disposes of in movies!
