Runnin' on Empty is literally running out. However, over the past year I have been toying with an idea to visualize the "urby'ness" of the city of Worcester. Not as urbannesque as Boston, Worcester is non-the-less the second largest city in all of New England. And Worcester is an old city, as are most cities in Massachusetts. The very first reading of the Declaration of Independence in Massachusetts was not in Boston, but in Worcester. And this city lays claim to a number of first: the birth control pill, barbed wire, the first Valentine, the Smiley Face -- to mention a few. So begins a series of images where I will try to give form to my visual impressions of those things I feel that give Worcester it unique urban environment.

Good to see you back. You will never run out, you have a great eye and as long as you keep traveling and digging. This year my wife and I decided to get to as many of the cities, towns and villages along the Hudson River to shoot what is left of the old and the new revivals. I grew up in Poughkeepsie in the 50's and 60's during the time of "urban renewal" what joke, we lost a lot of the past.
I'm looking forward to this project.

It's that time of year. I teach at Clark U, and it is final projects time which gives me almost no time for myself and my photography. That's why I've been absent and am talking about what I'll do this summer. Thanks for viewing.
