URBAN Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury, Massachusetts 18 May 2009

From the first time I drove down the Southwest Cut-off (RT 20) -- 17 years ago -- I have been watching this sculpture's face slowly peal away. It's gotten just trashy enough in the past year or so that I've begun the think about photographing it. Interesting that this place has been vacant for all of those years. Yesterday was just the right kind of day, the kind of day where the wind has laid, the sky is interesting, and I needed to get out of the house. The only thing that would have made it better is if it had been slightly raining. I love photographing thing when it's wet outside. Colors are just more intense.
