RURAL rather than URBAN -- Barre Plains

Barre Plains, Massachusetts 2 July 2009

I meant to post this image on July 4th, but I got distracted by having to host a meal with some long time friends. I have been to, and through, the town of Barre many times, but never realized a mile or so southwest is village of Barre Plains. I love the simple pleasures images like this represent. The meal I prepared for Saturday night was simple, too -- fish and shrimp simmered in Vera Cruz sauce served over rice and a salad. And of course, margaritas were served.

And it does "look" a little Southwest.

As John Mellencamp would say "ain't that America..."

Lovely image.

And cheers to margaritas!

Man, why didn't you let me know you went to Barre Plains?? It's like 3 miles from where I grew up.
