LIB PIX

Vineyard Haven, MA July 2003

Another one that Libbie wanted on the wall. We use to spend more time on the Vineyard, and early one foggy morning, I was out and about. The fog had lifted on the land but remained over the ocean. Me and the tripod balanced on a one-foot wide wall, it was all just too perfect.

MORE DOWN EAST

Revere, Massachusetts 12 June 2011

Was out and about Cape Ann yesterday touring some friends from Texas. It was one of those windy, misty, gray days with a northeast wind coming in off the ocean. But that's the kind of light I like for photographing. Startled the folks in the truck when I stomped the brakes and made a U-turn. Just could pass the above image by. It's a monotone conversion from my 5D2.

DOWN EAST, as they say....3

Somesville, Maine 8/12/2008

I'll make not excuses about "beauty" being represented in some of my images. There has been a discussion over on Paul Butzi's blog about beauty in photography, and how if it's "pretty" is it art? Deep in the Maine woods I came upon what appeared to be a serving of flan -- that wonderful Mexican dessert of cream caramel custard. For Anita, I'm lifting the ugly veil. No, it's not a great image, but for me, it was arresting causing me to pause and reflect just how nice some simple things can be.
