THURSDAY

White Sands National Monument, New Mexico 1995

I beginning to give some thought about traveling this summer. I'm thinking about a 6-8 week trip to California and back. Maybe I can stop off in White Sands. It's not sand, you know, but almost pure gypsum crystals. On top of the dunes, in the full full sun, the temperatures can easily reach 100+ degrees, but step into the shadows, it is instantly 20 degrees cooler. Like walking into an air conditioned room.

Hey, you didn't mention anything about metering the sand dunes. I still can't get over how it turns out.
