I have always preached that you can't make meaningful images if you know nothing about your subject matter. After driving through many miles of redwoods (all the way from Willits, CA to Crescent City, CA,) I still don't have a single image of a redwood tree. They are impressive: can grow to over 300 feet tall, several thousand year life span, and can be larger in diameter than my truck at their base. I marveled at a 9-foot diameter section that was taken from a tree's mid-section -- which was about 150' from its base. But I just couldn't get the dialogue started beyond WOW. I even tried hugging one, but that didn't work either. So I give you an aquarium image from Monterey.

The dark object on the left looks like a dolphin with arms. And the object on the right could be another big fish....
This is 8:30 AM and I haven't been talking with Margaret this morning!
