For the past couple of months, I have posted color images made while on a trip through West Texas in March of this year. Those were all digital images, but I have a long history using black and white film. Just about every time I found something of interest, I would shoot a few frames with my 5D2, and a few frames with my Pentax 67. I love the fact that I have the choice. A lot of people I've talked with about shooting both mediums tell me they cannot think in both color and B&W at the same time, but I find little problem with leaning both ways on the same subject.

I love these landscapes full of melancholy....they suggest me strong feelings...It's a great collection!
Ale -- Strong feelings here, also. To me, these are windows into the immediate past. They are about who we were, and who we grew into. The "we" is us, the US culture. I like to think of these images as little pieces of a big quilt I'm piecing together -- I don't know what the final quilt will look like, and won't until I stop taking photographs. That's when they will pry the camera from my cold dead hands.
often with photography we search for the present but also the search of the past is a very useful thing. there is a proverb that says: if you want to understand the future looks behind your shoulders. good job, keep it up!
